Flap Surgeries

When an injury or tissue loss leaves important structures such as bones, blood vessels, ribs or other vital tissues exposed, specialised soft-tissue coverage may be required to protect the area and support healing. Flap surgery uses tissue with its own blood supply to provide appropriate coverage and restore the affected area.

Depending on the location and extent of the defect, a flap may include skin, underlying fat, muscle or other tissue supplied by its blood vessels. The choice of flap and surgical technique is determined by the nature of the injury, the structures involved and the amount of tissue coverage required.

Advanced reconstructive surgery to provide durable soft-tissue coverage for exposed bones, blood vessels and other vital structures following complex injuries or tissue loss.
