Gyenacomastia

Gynecomastia is the enlargement of male breast tissue and can occur due to a combination of hormonal factors, excess body fat and other contributing factors. The enlarged breast may consist primarily of fatty tissue, glandular tissue or a combination of both, and the appropriate treatment depends on the underlying composition.

When excess fat is the predominant concern, liposuction can be used to contour the chest through small incisions. When enlarged glandular tissue is present, it may require surgical excision, often through an incision placed around the edge of the areola to help minimise the visibility of the resulting scar.

At Shilp Hospital, treatment is planned after assessing the extent and nature of the enlargement, with the goal of achieving a more balanced and natural-looking chest contour.
