SCAR MODIFICATION

Scars can develop following injuries, burns, surgeries, acne and other skin conditions. While scars cannot always be completely removed, appropriate treatment can help reduce their appearance, improve their texture and, in some cases, make them less noticeable.

At Shilp Hospital, scar modification is planned according to the type, location and characteristics of the scar. Raised or hypertrophic scars may require treatments such as injections or surgical revision, while depressed scars can be addressed by restoring the underlying volume or contour using appropriate techniques. Laser-based treatments may also be considered to improve the appearance and texture of selected scars.

Post-acne scars and facial depressions may benefit from a combination of dermatological and plastic-surgical treatments. The treatment plan is individualised based on the scar and the desired outcome.

Specialised scar care to reduce the appearance of surgical, traumatic and acne scars through personalised surgical and non-surgical treatment approaches.
